We are proud to introduce you to another fantastic Bucks County teacher.

Meet Inspire’s “Teacher of The Year” finalist, Dave Chichilitti of Bristol Borough High School.

Dave is a special education teacher who currently offers learning support for students in grades 9 through 12. Dave has been teaching for 13 years all of which he has spent at Bristol Borough High School. Dave is dedicated to his students and his school community. He is a junior class advisor, prom committee advisor, Work Readiness Club and Camp Co-Coordinator, and he is the Varsity Softball coach at Neshaminy High School. He has also been recognized for his work with the IEP program serving as Bristol Borough High School’s Compliance Chair.

Dave Chichilitti received his Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, Special Education K-12, and Social Studies from Temple University. He obtained his Master of Education degree from Holy Family University. He is also considered a Highly Qualified Special Education Teacher for grades 7-12 in math, science, social studies, and language arts. In his spare time, Dave has served as a Little League coach for 6 years where he continues to serve his local community. He also participates in Bucks County Challenger Baseball which is an initiative that supports and provides fundraising for children with disabilities and other causes.

We asked Dave about his favorite thing about teaching and he could not decide on just one. Dave said, “I’m going to bend the rules on this question and say I have two favorite things. The first is obviously my students. They keep me young by constantly updating me on what’s popular and fashionable. The most rewarding part of my job is running into past students who are doing well. The second is being surrounded by such a talented, supportive, and caring faculty/staff. Because of my students and peers, there has never been a day in my 13-year career, that I haven’t had at least a handful of smiles. I can honestly say, I love my job.”

Congratulations to Dave and all 10 of the 2018 Teacher of the Year finalists!

Over the coming weeks, we will be spotlighting each of our ten finalists for Teacher of the Year on our blog and on our Facebook page.
